MARINE DISCOVERY CENTER

Located on the island, the Marine Discovery Centre works to enrich the guest experience through education, research and conservation of the marine environment. It is the base for pioneering research on manta rays and coral reefscaping, leading to knowledge that will help preserve these at-risk species. Led by a team of marine biologists from Male-based environmental consultancy, Seamarc Pvt. Ltd., activities in the conservation program guide guests through the alluring underwater world around the islands. Experience once-in-a-lifetime encounters with a variety of marine creatures while learning about their life and habitat, and even participate in some of the Resort’s conservation projects. Proceeds from all activities support the Resort’s Green Fund conservation and marine research programs.

MAJAA MAIZAAN

Majaa Maizan, Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru young adults’ centre, welcomes guests between the ages of 13 and 18. It’s the perfect place to hang out and meet new friends or catch up with old ones. Enjoy a game of pool, table tennis or table football. Watch a movie on the plasma-screen television, use the PlayStation or access the Internet. Or enjoy beach and water sports.

Teak tables and chairs are set in the sand facing the sea.

Enjoy Asian specialties for any meal throughout the day in this dramatic restaurant with three thatched-roof pavilions separated by reflecting ponds. BLU

Sample Italian specialties like veal Milanese with Sicilian caponata as you watch the sun sink below the horizon. Located at the western end of the island overlooking a 2-kilometre (1.2-mile) lagoon. From the restaurant pavilion on one side or the Blu Bar pavilion on the other, you can watch the sun sink below the horizon. The restaurant serves light antipasti, pizza and pasta during the day and fine Italian cuisine in the evening.

AL BARAKAT

Named after Abu Al Barakat Yusuf Al Barbari, a North African scholar who made Baa Atoll his home in the 12th century, Al Barakat showcases the regional specialties of Lebanon, Morocco and Armenia. The restaurant is built overwater, off the main jetty. A shisha bar is located on the lower level. The main rooftop dining area features comfortable seating spanning indoor and outdoor areas.

DEEPFLIGHT SUBMARINE

Skim over coral formations; fly through shoals of brightly coloured fish; encounter creatures like turtles, sharks, dolphins and rays; and explore the Maldivian waters down to a depth of 37 metres/120 feet – all without getting wet!

TURTLE REHABILITATION PROGRAMME

We share the islands beach and waters with hawksbill and green turtles and we want to keep it that way! Four Seasons Maldives Turtle Rehabilitation Centre is responsible for the recuperation and release of a great many Maldivian sea turtles each year, many maimed by ghost nets. The resort also run a turtle monitoring and turtle photo ID project.
