Maldives a safe travel destination during COVID?

The world travel and tourism council has stamped the fact of safe tourism. The WTTC recognized the Maldives’ efforts for COVID containment by giving a green signal to start the tourism. Apart from this, the United Nations World Tourism Organization also embrace the steps. In this regard, UNWTO gave a safe travel stamp to the Maldives for securing safety and hygiene.

Rules for traveling to the Maldives during COVID

Though the Maldives is open for visitors, they should follow some rules before planning their visit. However, according to the Ministry of tourism from September 10, you will be required to follow these rules;

• All tourists who are traveling should have a negative PCR test for COVID-19 on arrival. However, the result shouldn’t be more than 72 hours before departure.
• Apart from this, you have to go through with 14-days isolation period in case of interaction with COVID patient. But it’s not preferred to visit the Maldives with symptoms like shortness of breath or cough.
• Above all, you will follow a thermal scanner, social distancing, hand sanitizing, and mask-wearing practice.

According to the tourism minister, these rules are functional because we care about safety. However, in this regard, each sector is working tirelessly to keep the COVID-19 away.

Are resorts welcoming visitors In Maldives?

There are general guidelines that are necessary for all resorts to follow. These rules are according to the directions of the Ministry of Tourism and “WHO.”

• PCR negative test required on Arrival to Maldives
• Submit an online health self-declaration form
• Govt may run the random COVID test at guests
• Guests can avail the facility of split stay, but they will have to inform the authorities in advance
• Visitors will have to wear masks.
• Assist with the officials
